The culture of Tunis is a mixture of the Middle East, Europe and Africa. The culture of Tunisia which is a blend of western thoughts and Islamic religious beliefs makes it a liberal country as compared to other Arab Islamic countries. Like other colorful cities in Tunisia, Tunis also embodies the prevailing culture which has been an important characteristic of life-style in Tunisia, but Tunis City is more liberal than rest of the other cities in Tunisia. The style of living in Tunis reflects the influences of ancient civilization and the sophisticated European standards which has also influenced the clothing and mannerisms of the people. Tunis also hosts many cultural events and festivals, mainly in summer season during Carthage Festival and the city also has few good theatres featuring French and Arabic plays.
